Geek overload

So, I found myself at one point today being the biggest geek, dork, nerd, whatever you want to say. I was posting wall to wall on facebook with one of my friends from my web development class. We somehow managed to mention drupal, ninjas, Star Trek, and Star Wars all within 15 minutes. Simultaneously, I was twittering as Buffy about having twitter slayers to fight off the twitterbots. Then, my next thought was... i can't wait to go write a blog post about this...

Soon, I'm going to forget how to have any type of conversation without making keyboard motions with my fingers...

Gonna Be a Bear part deux

Another great reason to be a bear. This is totally me as a bear. Hot tub, cute guy (insert husband here), beer...

_Buffy_Summers is one to twitter

Never realized the fun in just writing a sentence and sending it out to the universe. It's kind of a freeing feeling to twitter. No real pressure. Just see all the possibilities of creating!

Sleepy Days - Gonna Be a Bear

This is one of my favorite things I've found:

Gonna Be a Bear:

In this life, I’m a woman.

In my next life, I’d like to come back as a bear. When you’re a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate, you’re supposed to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that too.

When you’re a girl bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you’re sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that.

If you’re a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.

If you’re a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.

Yup, gonna be a bear!

Crazy about T.I. and JT

So, I have always been a fan of Justin Timberlake, but his new duet with T.I. - Dead and Gone blows me away and makes me glad that neither one of them is dead and gone. Stick around for a long time gentlemen and keep creating amazing, powerful music for the rest of the world to enjoy! Thank you and I hope others enjoy this as much as I do!!

I crack myself up.

I was just on here looking at the last time I posted something, and I noticed my little catchline: Some information on what I ponder and value in my life. What a load of crap. From the looks of my blog, it would appear that I never think about much nor do I value anything.

I should change it to: When I have time I'll write something every six months or so.

Wachovia Takeover!?!

So, I'm driving to work this morning on this beautiful September morning. And I'm listening to the banter regarding the $700 billion bail-out that Congress is mulling over... So, President Bush gives us the speech that was so similar to the speech about going into Iraq (Jon Stewart Daily Show did a side by side comparison). Feeding us fear if the bail-out is not provided. But, one thing that crossed my mind this morning, was: What if we as taxpayers fund this and there is still panic and chaos and failure? I stopped breathing momentarily, but then the next news story was Wachovia Takeover by Citigroup!!! So, they couldn't wait a few more days for the bail-out to occur. It's a good thing I didn't drive off the road otherwise I wouldn't be here to share all of these very important thoughts of mine.

Another thought that is occurring to me is: Would Teddy Roosevelt be rolling over in his grave if he saw all of the takeovers and buyouts by the larger banks that are smart enough to take advantage of this moment. Do I smell Darwinism-Survival of the Fittest or are there Monopolies brewing??? Can we trust the government to help? People are waiting for the next great leader to come along or maybe for a Franklin D. Roosevelt to emerge. But, he is gone and we are it. It is now up to us. So, what are we going to do?
